Screenloop integrates seamlessly with Google Meet to automatically detect, join, and record interviews for review, collaboration, and AI-powered insights.
Who Can Use This Feature?
Organisations using Google Workspace
Screenloop users conducting interviews through Google Meet
Requirements
Before using this feature, ensure you:
Have a Google Workspace account (formerly G Suite)
Use Google Meet through your organisation domain
Personal Gmail accounts (@gmail.com) and the consumer version of Google Meet are not supported.
How Google Meet Works with Screenloop
There is no manual installation required.
When a Google Meet interview is scheduled:
Screenloop automatically detects the meeting
A recording assistant called your_organisation_name Notetaker joins the interview
The interview is recorded and processed automatically
Accepting the Notetaker into the Meeting
To begin recording:
The meeting host must admit the Notetaker into the meeting
This should happen within the first 10 minutes of the interview
If the Notetaker is not admitted, the interview may not be recorded.
Why Does the Notetaker Sometimes Rejoin?
Occasionally, the Notetaker may attempt to join the meeting more than once.
This usually happens when:
There is a temporary connection issue
The recording service detects a problem
The Notetaker automatically attempts to recover the recording
This behaviour is expected and helps ensure the interview is captured successfully.
Configure Google Meet Permissions
For the Notetaker to join successfully, Google Meet settings must allow external participants to join meetings.
Google Workspace admins should ensure:
“All users (including users not signed in with a Google account) can join meetings”
This is usually enabled by default.
For more details, consult your Google Workspace admin settings.
Remove the Notetaker from a Meeting
If needed, you can remove the Notetaker during an interview:
Open the participant list
Remove Notetaker from the meeting
When removing the Notetaker, do not select the abuse reporting option.
Using the abuse report feature may block future recordings for your organisation.
What Happens if the Notetaker Is Removed?
If removed during the interview:
Recording stops immediately
The partial recording up to that point is still saved in Screenloop.
Meetings under 5mins or with less that 5 conversational exchanges will be automatically voided.
Things to Keep in Mind
Google Workspace is required
Hosts must admit the Notetaker within 10 minutes
Avoid reporting the Notetaker as abusive when removing it
Additional Tips
Inform interviewers ahead of time that the Notetaker will join meetings
Allow a few moments after joining for the recording assistant to connect
