Advanced Candidate Search

Find the right candidates faster with powerful search and filtering tools

Updated this week

Hiring the right talent starts with finding the right candidates — quickly and efficiently.

With Advanced Search, you can go beyond simple keyword searches and filter candidates using multiple criteria such as location, job status, resume content, tags, and more. This allows you to identify and engage the best-fit candidates in just a few clicks.

This article explains how to use:

  • Open search

  • Field-specific search

  • Boolean search

  • Candidate filters

  • Saved searches

Using the Open Search Bar

When performing a search using the top search bar, Screenloop checks the following fields within a candidate’s profile:

  • Name

  • Email

  • Location

  • Job

Simply type a keyword to return matching candidates.

Search Using Specific Fields

You can refine your search by targeting specific fields within a candidate profile.

To do this, enter:

fieldname:searchterm

Do not include spaces after the colon.

Searchable fields

  • name: – Candidate’s name

  • email: – Candidate’s email address

  • location: – Candidate’s location

  • job: – Job title the candidate applied for

  • cv: – Content included in the candidate’s resume

Example

To find all candidates named Sarah:

name:Sarah

This ensures your results are limited to that specific field.

Using Boolean Search

Screenloop supports basic Boolean search operators to help refine results.

AND Operator

marketing AND manager

Returns candidates who contain both “marketing” and “manager” in their profile or resume.

OR Operator

developer OR engineer

Returns candidates who contain either “developer” or “engineer”.

Boolean search can be combined with field-specific searches for even more precision.
